PeSA Australia History
PeSA Australia began as the result of discussions between Phil Leahy and Joe Cortese (Founder and Chairman of the Board, PeSA USA) as the Board of PeSA sought to develop a worldwide network of PeSA organizations. Phil, having been a member of PeSA USA since 2004, and an active member of the events committee, helped to develop and run the PeSA USA events. He was also instrumental in engaging other Australian sellers in dialogue with eBay top sellers, a core group of which attended many USA eBay and PeSA events. Phil was chosen by the Board as the first International President. From these active merchants, PeSA Australia was formed.

The 1st PeSA Australia Shoot for the Stars Powerseller conferences (two - one day events) were held in 2007 in Sydney and in Melbourne. Major Sponsors for the events were eBay, Paypal and Shopping.com, supported by Australia Post. Exhibitors included the two major eBay Certified Solution Providers, Marketworks and Channel Advisor, as well as Online Market Experts and Shipsmart. The "Shoot for the Stars" PeSA Conference introduced speakers, Jonathan Garriss (Executive Director of PeSA USA) Simon Smith (Managing Director eBay Australia) and many other Stars of the eBay Marketplace. The eBay sponsored events 'Shoot for the Stars' were open to the whole eBay Powerseller community.
In 2008 PeSA Australia held its second summit in Melbourne called "Navigating Change to Success!"
